Concepts for customisation

The key to the pavilionHOUSE is that the planning and design of each pavilion can be customised to suit each residents’ own dreams, desires, or demands.

An infinite number of arrangements of pavilions in a pavilionHOUSE is possible from a few basic models.

We have developed the following concept plans to illustrate the kinds of pavilions that you might find in a Queensland pavilionHOUSE. These floor plans are compliant with most planning and building regulations in play in Queensland and are included for illustration purposes only.

The choice is yours. Suit yourself!

tea

3.6m x 4.8m = 17.28sqm total
(4.32sqm screened veranda)

The ‘tea’ pavilion (tp) provides a serene and intimate space for solitude and meditation that emphasises harmony, respect, and a connection to nature.

With its focus on simplicity and tranquility, the ‘tea’ is a picture-perfect retreat in which to read, write, research, paint, play music, or indulge in deep, contemplative activities such as washing the dishes or making a cup of tea.

The ‘tea’ is perfect for singles and solo artists, although a futon can fold out to sleep very special visitors as well. And the kitchenette is ample for those who prefer to eat out, or who tend to survive on microwaved dinners.

harmony

3.6m x 9.0m = 32.4sqm total
(11.88sqm screened veranda)

The ‘harmony’ pavilion (hp) is synonymous with choice, where different uses can be made of the same space at different times. With room to swing a tea towel, the ‘harmony’ is ideal for singles or very close couples who love sharing, everything; well, for most of the time.

The ‘harmony’ includes a security-screened, front veranda – a place to meet the uninvited – while the screened back veranda is an idyllic retreat for a sundowner with a partner or it can be changed around to sleep (out) special guests.

The ‘harmony’ is excellent for retirees and empty nesters who have the occasional visit from grandkids. The double bed can also be screened off to ensure privacy when needed.

universe

3.6m x 11.7m = 42sqm total
(8.64sqm screened veranda)

The ‘universe’ pavilion (up) is a luxury one-bedroom pavilion, ideal for singles and couples of all persuasions.

The ‘universe’ features three, flexible, ‘retreats’: a screened front veranda/sleepout, a living/meals area with kitchenette, and a bedroom with a quiet, corner study place.

The separate retreats are ‘text-book’ for young professionals and students who need a private space in which to work or rest at all hours.

zephyr

3.6m x 12.5m = 45sqm total
(12.96sqm screened veranda)

The ‘zephyr’ pavilion (zp) is the stuff of myths and legends, fantasies, and fairy tales, literally “a soft gentle breeze”, something “in-between” a mini or a mansion. Inspired by the traditional, sub-to-tropical ‘dogtrot’ or ‘shotgun’ style, the ‘zephyr’ features a central screened breezeway/veranda, which can be opened or shut to suit the weather.

The ‘zephyr’ is a classic ‘veranda pavilion’, where inside and outside become one large living space, and there is opportunity to escape from the bedlam to a separate bedroom.

The ‘zephyr’ is the classic entertainer.
